Jennifer Harris is the founder and executive director of JackLeg Press and the author of the novel Pink (Harrington Park Press, 2007; Bold Stroke Books, 2008). Her latest work, a creative essay, “One Hundred and Forty-One Miles,” is slated for publication (to be announced this November). Another recently published essay, “Why I Am Not a Buddhist Monk,” is featured in Gargoyle Magazine.
Jennifer is the Senior Vice President of Philanthropy at the National Park Foundation (NPF), where she leads a dynamic team of more than 25 professionals driving toward an ambitious $44 million annual fundraising goal for FY26. She oversees several cornerstone initiatives, including the Campaign for National Parks—which has surpassed $1 billion in contributions—alongside the Annual Giving Program, Donor Engagement, Prospect Development, and Strategic Operations.
By the end of the fiscal year, NPF’s Philanthropy team will have raised over $100M, with her direct team contributing over $39M. A steadfast commitment to community, creativity, and meaningful impact defines Jennifer’s career. She holds a Ph.D. in Community Psychology from National Louis University, an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Arizona.
